IS TRUST BRASIL
Estate planning documents known in the United States as trusts, wills and powers of attorney entail “fiduciary” and “testamentary” documents. In Brazil, country of origin of the principal attorney of Trust Brasil, those are known as documents of succession governed by the Civil law.
The services provided by our office, including preparation and administration of estate planning related documents, and the name Trust Brasil (yes, with an “S”) arose from our need to serve our large Brazilian community in California. We certainly welcome all nationalities. While our office is designed to serve Brazilians, that is just our special addition.
The initial thought to create this professional law corporation arose from a practical observation that Portuguese speaking professionals dedicated specifically to Probate law are urgently needed to serve with personalized care, preferably in Brazilian Portuguese, our vibrant community.
Brazilians deserve and need to have access to quality estate planning and administration counseling provided by responsible and caring professionals who are able to convey trust (in Portuguese, confiança).

We give Brazilians residing in California, as well as Americans and other foreign citizens, the opportunity to understand and to have their estate plan prepared in detail while going over different scenarios and possibilities, all presented in the Brazilian native language (when needed). These benefits are unnegotiable to fully protect their wishes, to establish a care plan for their family members, pets, and estate.
Estate planning with a goal of avoiding or minimizing costs in probate court after the death of a beloved one is a right available for all, independently of age, residency status, of quantity and amount of personal and real property. The most precious thing protected in our practice is life, and what happens with the life of loved ones who stay after the passing of a valued person, including in terms of asset distributions and guardianship of minors or disabled family members.
By booking an appointment, you can benefit from one first call free of charge (up to 30 minutes)* in which you can briefly present your family composition, property structure, and talk about your goals for planning. I will respond with pertinent information to your reality in case your interest is aligned with Trust Brasil’s bandwidth to prepare and/or administer your documents and represent you in probate court if necessary. That means that there is no loss from having this initial call, even if you decide to follow a different alternative after we talk. Only benefits.

*Rescheduling will be subject to a full consultation charge ($365), unless previously approved by the attorney. The full amount may be reverted to the package selected by the client at the time of signature of the engagement agreement.
